The FIM and BSI Speedway have announced today that the newly-added Lublin FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland will now be a double-header event. Racing takes place on Friday, August 6 in addition to the previously announced date of Saturday, August 7, with both rounds at Speedway Motor Lublin in Poland. As previously announced, this will mark the first time Speedway Motor Lublin has staged an FIM Speedway Grand Prix event. Paul Bellamy, SVP and Managing Director of Motorsports Events at IMG, which operates the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series, stated: “We send a sincere ‘thank you’ to the city of Lublin for stepping forward to host a second Grand Prix event, allowing our calendar to maintain 11 events for the season. “The BSI team and Speedway Motor Lublin have worked hard to make this happen and we’re delighted to run two Grand Prix events in the city.” Jakub Kepa, Speedway Motor Lublin president said: “We are witnessing an historic moment for our city. Hosting the biggest speedway event in the world – the FIM Speedway Grand Prix – is a distinction for both Lublin and our club. “We are all the more pleased that we will organise not one, but two rounds of the SGP series at the speedway stadium at Aleje Zygmuntowskie. “Another opportunity to organise an event of such importance at our stadium may not be repeated again, so we are excited to have our attendees feel the amazing atmosphere for which Lublin is known.” Ticket information will be released in due course. |
