FRICKE’S BELLE VUE RETURN
BELLE Vue are going big for 2022 after confirming the return of Speedway Grand Prix star Max Fricke who will lead the Aces at the National Speedway Stadium next year.
He will team up with 2019 British Champion Charles Wright, who the club are thrilled to welcome back to their Premiership side, as the first two signings for the new campaign.
The pair were present and announced at the Belle Vue annual Christmas Cracker event on Monday [December 6] to a capacity crowd in the Peter Craven Suite.
Grand Prix star Fricke’s homecoming is a massive boost to British Speedway, after he elected to sit out of league racing in the UK the past two seasons.
The former World U-21 Champion has spent the entirety of his top-flight career with the Aces, prior to his hiatus, and is keen to pick up where he left off in Manchester.
Returning Belle Vue Ace Wright has also set the bar high for his second year with Belle Vue as he looks to build on the foundation he laid for himself last year.
His signing was greeted with great enthusiasm from the fans in 2021 and he is determined to step up his game when he dons his iconic race suit in 2022.
Belle Vue’s Director of Speedway, Mark Lemon, said: “Max Fricke’s return is not only a massive plus for the sport in Manchester, but also for Speedway on a national scale.
“This is a man who cut his professional teeth with Belle Vue for five years before progressing to the Grand Prix series and we’re delighted to have him back with us in 2022.
“Charles is another rider we were very enthusiastic about bringing back to the Aces, and I think we saw glimpses of his potential last season.
“He is a quality sportsman with a lot to offer this club and I am confident he will step up his game and tap into his full capabilities.”
