ARCHERFIELD: WHATMORE’S SPECTACULAR MIDGET CRASH

Callum Whatmore took a wild ride during the opening night of the Australian Midget Championship at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway, Friday, January 28.
It was a ferocious crash that has left Callum sick, sore and sorry, but according to Saturday morning reports he will be “on the mend soon.”
It was a lucky escape from potential serious injury after the violent nature of the quick succession of rolls as the car lurched perilously close to the top of the catch fence before falling to the track.
Meanwhile, the Australian Speedcar Championship preliminary feature race was won by Michael Kendall.
In what was a form setter for the Saturday night title final, the top three placegetters loom as major contenders for national title honours.
California’s Carson Macedo is ready to strike again following his third placing in the preliminary feature race, while runner-up in this event, Nathan Smee knows how to get the job done to win an Australian title.
