ROBINSON CHASES STATE TITLE
AUSTRALIAN V8 DIRT MODIFIED CHAMPION Mark Robinson enters this Saturday night’s (February 5) NSW title at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway as one of the favourites after a great couple of weeks in his career.
Two weeks ago Mark raced to his fourth national title and found a very special place for himself in Australian speedway history.
With win number four, he equalled the winning Australian Championship tally of his father Steve.
However the added significance is a unique honour achieved by father and son as the only duo who have won four Australian titles for any major speedway category on the national scene.
It’s a wonderful record setter and what would top it off even more if Mark, as a previous state titleholder, could win the state crown again.
“When Mark won his fourth Australian Championship it again put our Lismore venue into the headlines and continues the incredible run of national title successes enjoyed by Lismore competitors over so many decades.

“It was also a great win for the Robinson family after Steve’s years of success as well in the Modified division. Their place in Australian speedway history is so very well deserved,” promoter David Lander said.
A strong line-up will contest the 2021-2022 season state championship as defending titleholder Kevin Britten puts his title on the line.
Britten has gone on a winning run of NSW title successes in recent years at Hession’s Auto Parts Grafton Speedway and will be a contender among many others bidding to lift the trophy on the podium.
Phil McNamara is one of the major threats who is a previous winner of the NSW V8 Dirt Modified Championship. Phil hit the road to title stardom as far back as the 2009/10 season when he won the state crown at the Grafton Speedway.
Racing for Wingless Sprintcars, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, Legend Cars and Junior Sedans also will be featured on the big variety programme.
Gates open at 4PM and racing commences at 5:30.
