SHEFFIELD reserve Connor Mountain is delighted to be returning to Owlerton for a second spell this season.
Mountain, who previously rode for the club at Championship level, made several guest appearances for the Tigers in 2021 and has now secured a spot as their Rising Star for the new Premiership campaign.
He said: “It was great to have a few meetings with Sheffield in the play-offs last season.
“Jack Holder was definitely one of the top guys in the league so it’s always nice to try pick up some things from the likes of him.
“I rode with Adam (Ellis) a bit last year as a guest for Scunthorpe and Sheffield and we always get on well.
“I think the team has a great bunch of guys in and I’m looking forward to being a part of it and working with Steady (boss Simon Stead) too.”

BIRMINGHAM boss Laurence Rogers knows the three riders he wants to complete his team.
Rogers has identified the three candidates and is in talks with the trio, and hopes to reach a conclusion soon ahead of the new Championship campaign.
He said: “I’m talking to all three riders and we are getting there, it’s just a case of getting everything down in writing.
“I’m confident the team I have in mind will make the play-offs in the first year of the new consortium.
“We will have a nice balance about the team and my plan is to have Stefan Nielsen and Ashley Morris starting the season at reserve.
“I really cannot see a stronger reserve pairing than that, and the good thing is if one of the top five is hurt or is off-form then the boys at reserve can step in.”

ARMADALE have confirmed the return of Tom Woolley for a second season with the Devils.
Woolley was an ever-present in the 2021 National Development League campaign where some consistent displays saw him average just under eight.
He said: “I really enjoyed being with the Devils last year, everybody around the place is so welcoming. Such a friendly atmosphere from management to fans and everyone really – yes, I really enjoyed my year, so I was keen to stay this year.
“I think the team bonded well last year, there was a good atmosphere, and I don’t think anyone found it hard to ask questions.
“Everybody gelled and nobody was shy in coming forward. I’m quietly confident that we can build on what we did last season.”

MILDENHALL co-owner Phil Kirk is pleased to be able to offer an increased schedule of racing at West Row this season.
The reigning NDL champions commence their league campaign in May, but they have three home fixtures before then including the British Under-21 semi-final and a team opener on April 17 against a Poultec Select side.
Kirk said: “It’s been a very challenging task organising the fixtures for the 2022 campaign needing to give due regard to the fact that six of the eight teams in the NDL have sides also competing in one of the two other divisions.
“We would like to put on record to thank all the other clubs who have helped to ensure that we’ve been able to put together a nicely-balanced and exciting-looking fixture list home and away for the forthcoming campaign.
“All in all, we do have a well-balanced fixture list giving our riders regular league racing, something which after the disruptions of the past couple of years will be much appreciated by riders and fans alike.”

BRITISH Youth 250cc Champion Luke Harrison will be given his first taste of competitive league racing in Wolverhampton colours when he turns 15 in June.
Harrison, 14, will continue as the club’s mascot, and following his birthday he will appear for the club in the new Premiership Junior League which follows senior meetings at Monmore.
Wolves co-promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “We were unsure if Luke would be in a position to continue with a busy summer of Individual competition ahead.
“Luke will compete in the European 250cc Championships in the Czech Republic along with the inaugural Discovery FIM World Under-16 Championship (SGP3) in Poland.
“He will turn 15 in June and will then be in a position to compete in the Parrys International Wolf Cubs junior team which will be racing at Monmore during the season after the main event.
“This will give him great experience and hopefully continue his development as a rider.”
