CHARLES HUNTER TOPS NOWRA

In front of a packed house at Nyora Speedway, Charles Hunter took the win at RD6 of the Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers All Star Series.

Going into the A-main as highest in points, Hunter led from start to finish and in doing so locked in his first Series win after coming so close several times before.

“Todd Hobson showed his nose and it probably only took that for me to close the door, then it gave me time and I just ran the bottom.

 We have had a couple of near misses but tonight we deserved it. We had a fast car all night, high points and started on the pole, and I’ll take that. It doesn’t matter if it is one lane or two lanes, you still have to drive on it so we will take it,” an elated Charles said at the post race interview.

In only his fourth run with the series rookie Todd Hobson had a strong night finishing second while Brad Warren was third, Ryan Davis fourth and Travis Millar rounded out the top five.

 Brett Smith ran strongly while in fourth before he pushed up into the wall on the front straight and bought on the reds on lap 23. The race was marred with several yellows and unfortunately declared at the red due to time restraints. 

Cam Waters again took out the TEH Hard Charger Award, starting in position 17 after he dropped a heat and ultimately finished sixth in the feature.

Team McQuinn also won their first HHH Quickest Time Award. 

Eighteen cars filled the pits in the return to Nyora and the crowd certainly came to show their appreciation. An open pit walk-through interval was a huge success allowing the crowd to mingle safely with all the divisions present while track work was carried out. Drivers handed out posters, frisbees and other giveaways to the kids.
