THE PRYDE OF THE WEST

Introducing Jason Pryde, SAWA Sprintcar Series Champion.

On a perfect night for Pryde, who not only claimed the series championship, but also the final round at the Perth Motorplex over the Easter weekend.

The start of the feature race would see two attempts, with Kye Scroop sent to the rear of the field. On the third try, Troy Lawson jumped straight to the lead, while Owen Peet held second.

On the fourth lap Pryde, would passed Peet going in to turn one and start to chase Lawson out in front.

A great battle between Ryan Lancaster and Darren Mewett for the minors was in progress, before rookie Chromie Holmwood spun.

On the restart Lawson and Pryde would pull away from the field, while Lancaster slid into third place passing Peet.

A great tussle between the two leaders developed, with Pryde making a fantastic pass in turn three to grab the lead on lap nine.

Further back the two J&S Drilling cars of Peet and Scroop had a ding dong battle, with the experience of Scroop winning out.

Pryde would take the win, with a great result, over a great result for Troy Lawson in second and Lancaster third.
