THREE CLUB TOURNAMENT
GROUP winners Glasgow, Leicester and Poole are making plans for a mouth-watering three-legged Grand Final to resolve the Championship Jubilee League.
Promoters have agreed on a change of arrangements to determine the winners of the new competition, which threw up several exciting meetings in the group stage.
The original intention was to stage a one-off Final on neutral territory, but the decision has now been taken that each club will stage a home leg as a three-team tournament, with the points from each meeting accumulating.
Glasgow and Leicester both qualified for the Final on race points difference after edging out Edinburgh and Scunthorpe respectively, whilst Poole were unbeaten throughout their Southern group schedule to finish clear of Oxford.
BSP Ltd Director Danny Ford said: “This was discussed between the clubs and we felt a three-legged Final would be the right way to finish off what’s been an excellent competition.
“It gives all three clubs and their supporters an extra home meeting, it’s three additional pay-days for the riders, and it’s three strong teams going head-to-head on all three tracks.
“With my Poole hat on obviously I hope we come out on top, but I think this should be a tremendous contest and any neutral would find it hard to pick a winner.”
Dates for the three legs of the Final will be communicated by the individual clubs in due course.
