EASTERN CREEK SPEEDWAY OCTOBER 1 CANCELLED

Following a deluge of Sydney rain over the past few days and the promise of further heavy downpours today and over the weekend, Eastern Creek Speedway management had no alternative but to cancel the fixture scheduled for Saturday night, October 1.

It is extremely disappointing, not only for the management team, but for competitors and fans alike in the second attempt to commence the 2022-2023 season. 

The season was originally scheduled to start on Saturday, September 24 but that night also was victim to inclement weather.

The bumper October 1 programme boasted over 120 competitors and was set to be a jam packed schedule. It has certainly been the most challenging of times to try and get racing in Sydney back underway.

“A big thank you to all and we hope the rain goes away soon so you can get your Backside Trackside for a great season of Speedway action,” the ECS statement said.

Racing is set to resume on Saturday October 15 with Sprintcars, Midgets, Formula 500s and Formula 500 Juniors. For event details including prices and times:
