FLINT CONFIRMED FOR WOLVERHAMPTON
BRITISH Under-19 and Under-21 Champion Leon Flint has secured a return to Wolverhampton as the club’s Rising Star.
Flint has held that position since joining the Monmore Green club partway through the 2021 campaign, and he becomes the fourth rider from this year’s team to be confirmed for next season.
Team manager Peter Adams said: “He rode well domestically with some brilliant performances along the way for Wolverhampton, he was second in Berwick’s Championship averages, he represented Great Britain very well abroad, and those two individual titles were important for him as well.
“They showed that he can handle those kinds of pressure situations, and we’re glad to be continuing with Leon.
“We had to wait for the AGM to clarify the criteria for next season’s Rising Star programme, but when we knew Leon was available to us, it didn’t take us very long at all to decide that we should persevere with him because he’s a good, young talent and we know there’s an even better rider in there than we have already seen in some performances at Wolverhampton.”

IPSWICH promoter Chris Louis says he is fully positive for 2023 following decisions taken at last week’s AGM.
Louis is working on building the Witches’ line-up for next season after missing out in the play-off semi-finals this year, although they did gain some consolation by being crowned Premiership Pairs winners.
He said: “The points limit staying the same is right, we need to keep the league as competitive as possible and every opportunity to invite the top riders from the other leagues and the Grand Prix back to these shores is a good thing.
“Team building is going very well, and we are looking forward to making announcements in the coming week, so everything is going good.“I think it is sensible to reduce the size of the Pairs competition. It is a competition we won so I am probably biased, but I thought to a degree it was successful and I am looking forward to trying to retain that title next year.”
