Ground pounding action provided by Monster Trucks and 410 Sprintcars, plus a monster fireworks display, headline the Boxing Day bonanza at Eastern Creek Speedway, December 26.
There’s also Mighty Midgets and Wingless Sprints to get the season high time off to a flying start.
There will be two Monster Trucks that will go through their paces with their own brand of spectacular stunts.
Monster Trucks have been a part of the national speedway scene for over three decades and they still remain a popular attraction.
The roar of the V8 engine with its own pulsating sound which vibrates throughout the ground, the high flying leaps and spectacular wheel stands are all part of a family entertainment spectacle, capped off with a wonderful fireworks show.
Sprintcar drivers will get the final opportunity to run the circuit before the American invasion commences the international season with the appearances of Carson Macedo, Aaron Reutzel and Justin Sanders on December 30.
Michael Stewart, entered to drive the Bohud Racing Sprintcar December 26, is also listed amongst the nominations to race the Stewart team #51 Midget in what looms a busy night.
Since recently taking over the Bohud Sprintcar, Stewart’s early results have provided the team with plenty of enthusiasm for the upcoming major events.
Despite a spin last week and ultimately a recorded 14th finishing position in the feature, it certainly did not dampen the team’s spirits. Stewart did his best as he attempted to move through from the back.
“I’d rather Michael had spun out having a crack than not,” said Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones.
“The whole team was really happy with our progress in only our second outing together and we can’t wait to hit the track again.”
Stewart earlier gave the team a heat victory after qualifying sixth fastest in his time trial group.
Ian Madsen got his season ECS Sprintcar campaign off to a successful start with a feature race victory and he is the form driver approaching December 26.
Kaidon Brown, after a Sprintcar feature runner-up result December 17, also is on the Midget entry list for December 26 in addition to his Sprintcar commitments.
With a third placing in the feature last time out, Jessie Attard maintains his prominent place in the ECS Sprintcar Track Championship standings, while Jordyn Brazier had one of his best nights since the ECS opening earlier this year with a fourth in the main event.
National Sprintcar Champion Marcus Dumesny also has nominated in a line-up that includes all the strong running ECS regulars. It sets the scene nicely for round eight of the ECS Sprintcar Track Championship on December 26 in the final tune up before the Americans arrive.
Matt Jackson takes a four point lead into round five of the ECS- Speedway Classics magazine-sponsored Midget feature race pointscore.
In fact, the next three series point scorers behind Jackson – Stewart, Jay Waugh and Troy Jenkins and almost all of the top ten in the standings – are December 26 entries for the next round.
Twenty-four Midgets have entered for Boxing Day which is one of the strongest car counts so far this season.
Wingless Sprints have over 40 nominations with an impressive line-up.
Jason Bates is the man they all have to beat after sensational performances in the first half of the season.
He has a firm grip on the feature race results and will be chasing his fourth main event success. Bates is striving to equal – or better – his personal best of six consecutive features.
