Nominations continue to roll in for the 2023 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway January 27-29.
The pre-Christmas nomination tally currently sits at 77. With nominations open, until January 9, there is ample time for nominations to reach over the expected 100 car count.
In the past week, there have been some cracker nominations no bigger than American Sheldon Haudenschild from Wooster Ohio, who will strap into the Lee Motorsport USA #25 entry for his Classic campaign. Compatriot Chase Randall is also a recent nominee in the USA #9 driving for Victorians Danny and Kyle Mason.
The recent Australian nominations are very impressive, with current Australian Champ Marcus Dumesny submitting his nomination along with current Classic titleholder Lochie McHugh. While Marcus and Lochie have won the Australian Championship and Classic respectively, Brooke Tatnell has won them both and has officially submitted his nomination.
Tatnell will pilot the Shaun Dobson Racing team Cool Chassis for Andrew Dobson and will be spannered by experienced crew chief Shane Finch. Finchy and Brooke have vast experience together, which will no doubt see Brooke looking to add to his three Classic wins.
The entries contain representation from every state in Australia, with both Queensland and New South Wales having double-digit nominations. Tasmania also has a solid contingent, with seven local drivers nominated so far.
The American tally currently sits at seven, with more expected to submit their nomination prior to the on-time cut off.
