A massive entry list of 130 cars has been received for the Open Wheel Mayhem event to be held this Sunday, January 8, at Warrnamool’s Sungold Stadium Premier Speedway.
The venue will host three divisions, including Formula 500s, Wingless Sprints and Speedcars with a huge program due to the high number of entries.
Formula 500s have fifty nominations that will compete in the Jack Willsher Cup, including the last Willsher Cup winner Tim Rankin. This year’s event will pay a massive $5000 to the winner. The Willsher Cup has become a prestigious event for Formula 500s, having started in 2003 with the inaugural winner being the late Ken Willsher. This year’s field contains current Australian Champion Dylan Beveridge and recent Speedweek winner Nikko Panella amongst a crop of other stars.
Wingless Sprints are competing for Round three of the Victorian Wingless Sprints Summer Slam. Wingless Sprints have three consecutive nights with Premier Speedway hosting the final round of the series with fifty-two cars entered. A massive nomination list of over 80 cars was received, and Premier Speedway wishes to apologise to those who could not be accommodated.
The Beasley Memorial is up for grabs with the Speedcars.
A strong twenty-nine (29) nominations have been received, which includes interstate flyers including Western Australian Tom Payet, Queenslander Dylan Menz, New Zealand’s Kaleb Currie along with Matt Jackson and Speedcar stalwart Troy Jenkins from New South Wales.
Due to the high car count please note there will be an earlier start time of 4.30pm.
Pits open for Wingless cars from 9.00am
Speedcars and Formula 500’s can arrive from 12.00pm.
Public gates open 4.00pm
Tickets can be purchased at www.premierspeedway.com.au or can be purchased at the gate from 4.00 pm on race day.
