PREMIER SPEEDWAY WARRNAMBOOL: CAMPING STATEMENT
Premier Speedway has received a high volume of enquiries from patrons requesting to camp on the Premier Speedway Club premises.
Based on the level of interest, we must implement measures for the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic event this coming weekend.
We acknowledge that it has been occurring in moderate numbers however, with consideration to the number of enquiries received and a capacity crowd expected, space will be at a premium on the grounds with our focus being to provide car parking spaces for attending patrons.
To clarify a ‘No Camping’ policy exists, which states: “The Management of the Premier Speedway Club, Warrnambool, wishes to advise all of our valued visitors that due to Warrnambool City Council regulations, camping is not permitted in the car parks at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.”
We understand that some patrons may arrive in a camper or with a caravan attached. There will be a marked area on our southern boundary (parallel with the railway line) on the Warrnambool side of the venue (as per attached image) along with an allocated area on the west boundary of the lower paddock, as highlighted.
Vehicles must be parked up to the boundary, with no more than a car width in between each, with no allowance for awnings. Vehicles first to arrive will commence in our lower paddock on the east side, which will then extend west.
Patrons failing to comply will be requested to remove their vehicles from the grounds. Additionally, any unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with by the appropriate authorities.
Please be advised NO tents are to be erected. Please don’t be offended when you are asked to remove them.
As our team will be preparing the venue for the first night of competition, there will be no access permitted by vehicles on the Warrnambool side until 4.00pm Thursday January 26.
As the Allansford overflow car park uses neighbouring land which is privately owned, access to these grounds will not occur until Friday at 9.00 am when there will be a parking attendant in place who will direct vehicles into position. We ask you not to park on the Allansford side until after this time otherwise, it is highly likely you will be asked to move, as we have a plan that allows maximum use of the available space.
We are largely a volunteer club and ask that all attending patrons are respectful of the volunteers that are in place to ensure a safe entry and exit from the venue.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation. While we understand some patrons may have an annual pilgrimage in our car park, however, this has occurred against council by-laws.
Our priority, with a capacity crowd expected, is for the safety and well-being of our patrons to have a positive experience during their time at Premier Speedway.
We look forward to your patronage of what is a significant event for the Premier Speedway Club.
