SCHLEIN IS STATE TITLE FAVOURITE
Feature photo by: Judy Mackay
Following an impressive performance in Adelaide’s Gillman Championship last month, when he showed local fans what they have been missing for many years while he has been living in Britain, 2020 British Champion Rory Schlein will go into the National Karate South Australian Solo Championship at Gillman speedway this Saturday night, January 28, as a clear-cut favourite.
It’s 14 years since he last competed in the championship and 16 years since he last previously it!
Should Schlein falter, his biggest threat seems to be last season’s #3, Brayden McGuinness, but it really is wide open after that with probably up to another nine riders — Jack Morrison, Patrick Hamilton, Jake Turner, Michael West, Maurice Brown, Liam May, Declan Knowles, Dayle Wood and Aden Clare — who are capable of challenging for a berth in the final or semi-final.
Whatever the result, this meeting could see some of the closest racing of the season as so many of the riders are evenly matched and have produced close and exciting racing at recent meetings.
Support events will consist of another strong, and evenly matched, line-up of Sidecars, plus Flat Track Solos, 250cc Junior Solos, plus 125cc Junior Solos.
The meeting will be live streamed through the website link below. Please note this is the only official live streaming link, any others touted on facebook sites are scams.
