It was a season of immense highs and lows but in the end Warrnambool Sprintcar supremo Jamie Veal delivered Monte Motorsport a hat-trick of main event wins to put an exclamation point on 2022/2023.
There’s still another chance to make it four as well, and add a whole new degree of excitement on some new plans ahead.
Veal stormed to three A-Main successes on the trot in the new look black and yellow Monte Motorsport W17 Maxim putting a smile back on Luch’s face and reminding fans and teams across the country that the West Aussie juggernaut Sprintcar team is far from done.
“It was great to end the season on a high,” says Luch Monte, “Jamie drove brilliantly each night and came away with the win on all three nights which was a great result for our crew and all of our sponsors. We are so grateful that Vealy could come in and run those shows for us. We hope he can make it four this weekend.”
It had been a turbulent season but the speed of the W17 had never been in question even if the scoreboard didn’t always reflect the same.
“I can’t thank all of our crew enough,” says Luch, “we’ve had several people give up a lot of their time and energy to put into the season and I’m so grateful. We’ve learned a lot this season and we’re already working on some cool things for the future. I can’t say too much at the moment. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our valued partners on the car. It has been an honour to promote these companies on the W17.”
Monte also paid tribute to Buzzy Buswell at RPM Race Products for putting the new W17 Maxim together that Veal has been using to such lethal effect.
“Buzzy built us our cars at the start of the season and he’s built them for us at the end. I can’t thank him enough for always building fast cars,” says Luch.
The Monte Motorsport Team has one more appearance at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday for the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series Grand Finale.
