HARRIS RIDES TO THE MAX
GLASGOW number one Chris Harris raced to a 15-point maximum as the Tigers returned to winning ways against Redcar in the Cab Direct Championship.
The Ashfield side defeated the Bears 51-39 with Harris recording five wins out of five, whilst Danish star Claus Vissing was also in form with 13+1.
The result puts the Tigers second in the table, seven points behind leaders Oxford with three matches in hand, whilst the Bears are left in fifth place. Charles Wright was their top scorer with nine.
Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “A few of the boys are below par but they dug deep to get a very important result against a top team.
“We’ve now won five on the bounce in the league and we needed that result big-time.
“Chris was fantastic again. He really held the performance together. He set the tone coming from third to first in Heat 1.”

SCUNTHORPE are up to third place in the Cab Direct Championship after defeating Edinburgh 51-39 at the Eddie Wright Raceway.
Ryan Douglas roared to a 15-point maximum for a solid-scoring home team, who put the match virtually beyond the Monarchs in the opening seven races.
There were three 5-1s to the Scorpions in that period as they led 29-13, before the visitors fought back strongly to cut the gap to six at one stage.
Reserve Lasse Fredriksen scored 13+3 from seven rides and Josh Pickering added 10, but the home side collected match victory and the aggregate point.
Monarchs boss John Campbell said: “It’s always a challenge for us at Scunthorpe as it is such a specialist track with so many racing lines. The Scorpions got off to a strong start while we were working out the set-up and the lines.
“Lasse put in an impressive performance and fully merited his heat 15 appearance. Scunthorpe have been doing exceptionally well this season on their own track, but we will take the positives from tonight as we move onto Oxford on Wednesday.”

BELLE VUE slammed in the biggest team total score in British Speedway so far this season with a 67-23 demolition of Kent in the NDL. The dominant Colts won all 15 races with Jack Smith scoring a 14+1 paid maximum, Sam Hagon also unbeaten with 12 – and James Pearson (12) was denied a five-ride maximum by mechanical trouble on the last bend of Heat 15.
They are now third in the table with a crucial away match at Berwick to come next weekend, whilst the Royals’ top scorer in Manchester was guest Jacob Hook with nine. Colts star Matt Marson (8+2) said: “We were a bit gutted not to hit 70! But joking aside, we are all super stoked with this performance and we couldn’t have asked much more of ourselves.
“We were gutted to away from Iwade empty-handed and we were hoping to get the two league points, and the aggregate if we could and we’ve managed to get all three.
“We were cautiously optimistic about our chances of getting the bonus so to go from 18 points down on aggregate to winning by 26 is a job well done.”

OLIVER Bovingdon was crowned British Youth 125cc Champion in a dramatic finish to the section at Scunthorpe on Friday.
Bovingdon’s rival Archie Rolph won the seventh and final round of the series to force a run-off for the British title.
But Bovingdon kept his nerve and won the decider from the inside gate with Rolph on his back wheel for the whole four laps.
Ollie Binns edged out Casper Kluczniak for the series bronze medal, ending up in third place overall.
Meanwhile Ashton Boughen all-but clinched the 500cc Championship by winning Round 5 – and he will be guaranteed the title by competing at Belle Vue in a fortnight. Jody Scott was second on the night with Ashton Vale third.
