AUSSIE SUPER STAR FOR AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY
EMERGING AUSSIE SUPER STAR, RYAN DOUGLAS, TO CONTEST AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY
Twenty-nine year old, Brisbane born, international speedway rider, Ryan Douglas, is a confirmed starter in the Australian Speedway Centenary, being staged over two huge nights, on December 28 and 29, this year.
Douglas, regarded as one of Australia’s emerging international stars, will contest the Solos Centurion Trophy on Friday night, December 29, thus, joining the likes of World Champions, Tai Woffinden (GB) and Chris Holder (AUST), in what is shaping as red hot field.
Ryan Douglas, a two time 500cc Queensland Speedway Champion, debuted internationally, in 2016, riding for the Scunthorpe Scorpions in the British Championship League. In 2019, the Queenslander was signed by Wolverhampton Wolves, to also race in the British Premiership League (Division 1). He also rides in Poland for Rawicz in what is a busy schedule abroad.
Douglas could not have been more impressive at North Brisbane Speedway, host venue for the Australian Speedway Centenary, last summer, producing standout performances at the Australian Solo Championship and Darcy Ward Invitational respectively.
“Ryan has been flying in the UK and Europe this year and I’m thrilled he’ll be lining up in the Australian Solo Centurions event,” says co-promoter and mentor, Darcy Ward.
“Over the past couple of years, Ryan’s performances have gone to another level due to his dedication and strategic thought process. He was very fast at my track last summer and he will not be at all fazed by the big name opposition on December 29. He’s definitely one to watch”.
Further major rider announcements will be made in coming days.
