The New South Wales Lightning and Litre Sprintcars Association recently held its annual presentation night at Sydney’s plush Bankstown Sports Club.
Hosted by competent MC, club president and driver Peter Styles, the stars of the 2022-23 season were in the function room to be acknowledged for their efforts during the previous racing term.
There was also the hard luck stories in a night where everyone came together in what represents a very well run club, put so adequately at the beginning of the night by Peter Styles in his introduction address to the gathering.
“I want to start by thanking the volunteers behind the scenes of this club, all the effort that goes into running it, the events we race at and those who make nights like tonight possible.
“I thank every member of the committee who gave time to the running of the club this year. It takes sacrifice, family time and commitment that all of you gave in spades.
“The drivers, teams and families that race with us all. Every car that rolls onto that track has a story behind it.
“A spanner guy, a pit crew, a partner, kids in the stands, a supportive mother and father, a company or a team of mates just having a blast in the shed. Shout out to all of you.
“Again it was a brutal year for some which showed the tenacity and persistence that runs deep in our teams. We pushed through it all with some surprise results, hard luck stories, new friends and more than a few laughs had.”
