AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY SECURES 12 HOURS OF PRIME TV COVERAGE ON FOX SPORTS

Organisers of the upcoming Australian Speedway Centenary, to be staged at North Brisbane Speedway, on December 28 and 29, 2023, have secured an impressive 12 hours of national TV coverage on Fox Sports/Foxtel.

The broadcast package comprises 4 x 60 minute programs that will be produced, after the event, with 2 programs being dedicated to the Sidecar Centurions Trophy (to be staged December 28) and 2 episodes allocated to the 500cc Solo Centurion Classic (being staged December 29).

The first of four episodes, will be screened nationally at 5pm EDST, on January 17, 2024.

Episodes 2, 3 and 4, will screen at 5pm (EDST) on January 24 and 31, whilst episode 4 will be shown at 5pm on February 7.

All 4 episodes will be replayed, numerous times, across multiple time-slots, providing magnificent coverage for the Centennial event. The transmission dates and times for all replays will be confirmed in coming weeks.

The TV coverage on Fox Sports will complement the livestream coverage, which will be accessible to fans wanting to see the action live, available on a subscription basis (further details to be announced in due course).

“This is so good for our sport,” says speedway sidecar legend, Darrin Treloar.

“It’s the first time in many years Australian speedway bike racing has been on television. It’s such a bonus for us riders, and team owners, to be able to assure our sponsors of national TV coverage.

“The Australian Speedway Centenary is ticking all the boxes. I have no doubt the livestream coverage will be brilliant too and to have 12 hours of delayed coverage on Fox Sports is absolutely huge.

“I subscribed to watch the livestream coverage, which was produced by Power Productions, for the Darcy Ward Invitational, earlier this year and the production was world class. This is all great for our sport,” Treloar concluded.
