AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY: JAIMON LIDSEY ENTRY
Multiple Australian Under 21 Champion and 2020 Under 21 World Champion, Jaimon Lidsey, has agreed to terms with organisers, to contest the upcoming Australian Speedway Centenary.
The twenty four year old, international star, will appear on night two (December 29), competing in the prestigious Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Classic at North Brisbane Speedway. Lidsey is the fourth rider signed so far; boasting World Speedway Championship winning credentials.
Born in Mildura, Victoria, Jaimon Lidsey won his FIM Gold Medal in the Czech Republic, thus joining the likes of Darcy Ward, Leigh Adams, Jason Crump and Max Fricke as Australian riders that have won the World Under 21 crown.
In top flight league racing, Lidsey currently races in England (Belle Vue), Poland (Leszno), Sweden (Smederna) and Denmark (Grindsted); underlining a frenetic schedule abroad.
“I’m rapt that Jaimon is riding at the Australian Speedway Centenary,” said co-promoter, Darcy Ward.
“I can’t recall him riding at North Brisbane Speedway previously, so I’m looking forward to watching him cut loose on what is a big racer’s track.
“I was super impressed with Jaimon during his recent World Team Cup appearances. I like his riding style and he just keeps improving. Fans are in for a real treat watching him banging elbows with the other top guys that we’ve already assembled.”
Jaimon Lidsey (VIC) joins Tai Woffinden (GB), Chris Holder (NSW), Adam Ellis (GB), Jason Doyle (NSW), Dan Bewley (GB), Rohan Tungate (NSW), Ryan Douglas (QLD), Declan Kennedy (QLD) and Tate Zischke (QLD) as the riders announced so far to contest the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Classic on December 29.
Further major rider announcements are imminent.
