AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY: SERCO SIGNS ON AS GOLD PARTNER
Serco Pty Ltd has agreed to terms with organisers of the upcoming Australian Speedway Centenary, slated for North Brisbane Speedway, on December 28 and 29, as a Gold Partner.
The Capalaba, Queensland based company, has acquired naming rights to the Sidecar Centurions Trophy on night one (December 28) and it will have a significant presence across both nights, as part of the live stream and Fox Sports TV coverage.
2023 represents Serco’s 50th anniversary and from humble beginnings the iconic company has established itself as a giant of the Australian motorcycle and automotive industries.
Serco commenced operations in 1973, reconditioning performance engines and over the ensuing 49 years it has built a reputation for innovation and excellence in the areas of supply and customer service. Serco now leads the market in supplying hard parts and accessories to the Australian motorcycle sector and various aspects of the automotive industry.
“The past 50 years has been a very enjoyable ride, with the best part being the fact that we’ve met some great people throughout Australia and the world,” says founder Tony Eales.
“When I started the business in 1973, I never envisaged that we’d grow to the level we have and I’m very grateful for the support our loyal customers have shown over half a century.
“We’ve received enormous support from the likes of Bob Anderson, in America, who’s at the helm of the well-known Wiseco brand and he’s helped open a lot of doors for us”.
Serco has acquired naming rights to the prestigious Sidecar Centurions trophy, being staged on night one of the Australian Speedway Centenary, as well as ownership of the pit reports, forming an integral part of the live stream and TV coverage, the race re-caps, race replays and progress score updates.
“Serco is thrilled to be involved in the Australian Speedway Centenary,” Tony Eales added.
“I love the speedway bikes and for as long as I can remember I used to patronise the Brisbane Exhibition Ground (EKKA) to watch the international bike nights. I never missed an event and I’m so happy to see big time speedway bikes back in Brisbane”.
Meantime, Australian Speedway Centenary co-promoter, David Tapp, says it’s an honour to have Serco partnering with the event, on such a large scale.
“Serco is synonymous with motorcycling and motorcycle racing throughout Australia and we’re delighted to have them join us for the sport’s Centennial celebration.
“Tony Eales and his son Gavin have an incredible passion for motorcycle racing and it’s a real thrill to have the Serco name associated with the event at such a high level”.
The Serco Sidecar Centurions Trophy has attracted arguably the best 16 sidecar teams in the world, for what promises to be an epic night of white knuckle, full throttle action.
