Reigning Australian Under 21 Champion, Keynan Rew and emerging star, Jacob Hook, have been announced as the final two riders who will contest the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Classic on night two of the Australian Speedway Centenary.
The two young guns, aged 20 and 21 respectively, complete what is a stellar sixteen rider field of international solo stars, appearing at North Brisbane Speedway in the mammoth Centennial event. December 28 features the Serco Sidecar Centurions Trophy, whilst December 29 showcases the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Classic.
Keynan Rew, born in Nambour, Queensland, won the 2022 Australian Under 21 Championship, leading to a contract, in England, with the victorious Ipswich Witches, in the British SGB Premiership. He also rode in Poland this year, with Gdansk and in 2024, will represent the mighty Leszno club in the Polish Ekstraliga.
Jacob Hook, meantime, from Brisbane, Queensland, represented the Edinburgh Monarchs, in the SGB Championship and NDL Academy team in 2023.
“Keynan and Jacob are both good talents and I’m rapt to confirm they’re taking the final two starting berths at the Australian Speedway Centenary,” says co-promoter and former dual Under 21 World Champion, Darcy Ward.
“Wow, we have a red hot field on December 29. The line-up features a perfect blend of youth and experience. Fans will see several iconic World Champions, established internationals and emerging stars, battling it out, in what will be an incredible night of solo racing”.
“This is the best credentialed line-up of riders, in an open meeting, that Australia has seen for over twenty years. There has not been a solo field like this, outside of the SGP rounds held Down Under, since the high profile Series 500 International Speedway Masters era,” Darcy Ward concluded”.
