DOUGLAS WANTS TO WIN KO CUP FINAL
SCUNTHORPE No.1 Ryan Douglas is hoping to end his latest stint with the club with silverware in Saturday’s Championship KO Cup Final.
Douglas leaves the Scorpions at the end of the season and has confirmed he will not appear in the UK’s second tier in 2024 as he focuses on weekend racing in Poland. But prior to that, he has a major role to play as his side visits Wimborne Road on Saturday holding a narrow four-point advantage from last Sunday’s first leg – having secured a 45-45 scoreline after 15 races on their previous trip to Dorset.
Douglas said: “One thing I haven’t done is win team silverware with Scunthorpe, so it would mean a lot to me to win the Cup with the club in my very final meeting with them at Poole.
“It hasn’t quite sunk in that I won’t be back for Scunthorpe next season, and it was a bit emotional after the final race (last Sunday), realising that was it. It was good to win that race and bow out with a win.”

Meanwhile Leicester will stage a double header on Sunday afternoon (3pm) with the Lion Cubs first hosting the Chargers in the second leg of the league decider.
