KENDRICK SPRINTCAR TEAM READY
The 2023-24 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series starts at the Perth Motorplex Saturday night, October 21, and the Triple M Kendrick Racing Team can’t wait.
In the off-season the team put in a massive effort so Jason Kendrick can challenge for his fourth series championship.
“We have made a lot of changes to our racecars and our processes and upgraded to a few new parts as well,” said team boss Geoff Kendrick.
“And we are going to have a different attitude on the set up this year too.
“We have built two new complete cars, with new engines, that are ready to go, that will back up the inventory that we already have.”
Geoff said it was going to be a big season of sprintcar racing here in WA – and the team is up for the challenge.
“We have some great Americans locked in for Speedweek and the Barbagallo Sprintcar Masters in February is going to be huge – but in reality just about every week is going to be a highlight,” he said.
“The local drivers and teams have really stepped it up a level and they are looking forward to taking on the Americans, as well as the quality field of interstaters we are expecting here in WA at various times of the season.
“And we welcome all our existing sponsors who have all committed to another season of racing – and we are glad to add Wilson’s Brewing Company and Kenda Tyres to our family as well – we are very humbled by the fantastic corporate support we have once again received.
“Our team launch in August with all our partners showed just how committed everyone is and we look forward to representing them for the full Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.”
In other big news the team will feature two cars at select shows, with teenager and crew member of the past few seasons Brock Francis to race in about six shows, including the season opener this Saturday.
Brock is an accomplished Outlaw Kart driver who has run under the KRT livery for the past few seasons – and comes onboard as the junior development driver.
“We are bringing him on slowly and after a couple of practice sessions, he has already shown great maturity and is doing everything we have told him,” Geoff said.
“Our aim for Brock is not to go out there and try and set a quick time, but to learn his craft, respect the gear and build slowly, and we are looking forward to seeing how he goes.
“We look forward to seeing everyone trackside from this Saturday night which is the start of the biggest season of sprintcar racing we have ever seen in WA.”
