PINK NIGHT AT TOOWOOMBA’S HI-TEC OILS SPEEDWAY DECEMBER 2
News release from David Budden
With the end of the year fast approaching, the big events continue to keep coming at Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway, with record breaking car counts and huge crowds flocking into the venue.
Hi-Tec-OIls Speedway offers the very best Speedway action around in South East Queensland. Super Sedans are back on Ultimate Pink Night, December 2 and Toowoomba’s Sean Black is getting into the spirit with a fantastic idea to help raise money for Breastscreen Queensland Toowoomba Service via the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.
Sean Black racing is looking to raise $1000.00 and is asking all his fans to buy a pink ribbon for $5.00.
For this, you get your name on his Super Sedan while raising much needed funds. To get on board contact Sean through Sean Black Racing Facebook page to secure your ribbon. Minimum donation is $5, however if you are able to donate more that would be greatly appreciated. ( Video | Facebook) For teams who are selling pink night merchandise or doing other fundraisers for this event you can also donate funds via the following link once your fundraising efforts are finalized. Online donations are now being accepted via the link below which will help us with our fundraising effort for Ultimate Pink Night. During the past 2 years we’ve raised just over $39,000 from this event which has purchased new equipment for Breastscreen Toowoomba. This season we are hoping to raise this total towards $70,000 by raising our goal to $30,000. https://www.toowoombahospitalfoundation.org.au/ultimate…
Even a $2 donation helps to make a difference and every dollar we raise stays in Toowoomba. All donations of $500 or more will get a separate post on our social media pages and if made before the end of this month will be also listed in the Pink Night event program. There is also an online auction with so far 27 very cool prizes to bid on. In addition to this, we will have an additional on-site silent auction in the Fanzone.
Pink Night this year is going to be a cracker. The evening will cater for all tastes of Australian Speedway. Both open wheel and sedan classes are set to impress with Round Three of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship combined with the Pro Sprintcars HRX Racewear Series.
There’s also Round Two of the Ultimate Super Sedan Championship, plus Speedcars and Modified Sedans return to Toowoomba for Round Two of their Smackdown Series and to add to the entertainment, a massive fireworks display.
The opening round of the Late Model Summer Speedweek Series will be held at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway on Boxing Night.
A big field of the country’s best Late Models will roll into town along with 2 American drivers Jeff Roth and Devin Moran who just finished runner-up in the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series in America this season, arguably the biggest Late Model Series in the world.
Speedcars return on Boxing Night for the GSA Advanced Machining Ultimate Speedcar Championship which will also produce an amazing lineup of drivers. Mr Fireworks is back for the kids plus Formula 500s, Lightning Sprints and a club show for Production Sedans.
A few nights later New Year’s Eve, Devin Moran returns to Toowoomba this time in a Super Sedan to contest the $10,000 to win Ian Boettcher Classic alongside the $10,000 to win Toowoomba Steering & Suspension T-Bar Nationals for Modified Sedans that’s already got a field of over 40 nominations.
But January doesn’t end there when Sprintcars return on January 5 for the prelude to the Red Hot Summer Shootout on the 6th and 7th and on January 6 and 7, the Wingless Sprintcar Queensland Title will be held on January 13.
Tickets for all these major events over December & January are now on sale. These nights will be huge, events and tickets are expected to sell very fast.
Bailey Leeson is a young man on the move in Formula 500s and is focused on a podium finish at the Australian Formula 500 title in Toowoomba over the Easter long weekend and at this point will also likely be the only car from Toowoomba competing.
So far this summer he has had four podiums from four starts which include two wins and two thirds.
In Lismore recently he won a heat and was the highest points scorer. He started the feature from position six after drawing the number six marble to set the invert. By the seventh lap he was in fifth place. After a restart, he made his way to fourth with a podium finish in sight. Deep in lapped traffic on a very demanding track on lap 14 he made his way into third to round out the Podium finish.
