TOOWOOMBA’S ULTIMATE PINK NIGHT NOW DECEMBER 9
One of the biggest events on the Toowoomba Speedway calendar, Ultimate Pink Night, has now been rescheduled for December 9 due to persistent storms.
Pink night holds special significance in Toowoomba each year to raise money for BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service via the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. Even a $2 donation helps to make a difference and every dollar we raise stays in Toowoomba. The online auction is open for another week and closing time will now be extended to next Saturday night at 8pm. To make a bid go to bid:https://airauctioneer.com/2023-ultimate-pink-night-auction. To see all the items up for auction go to the HI-Tec-Oils Toowoomba Speedway Facebook page.
For every ladies ticket purchased, $5 will be donated to the BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service through the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.
Next Saturday night will feature the same program except for Modified Sedans. The division made a previous committed to Carina Speedway. This means next Saturday night (December 9) will see Sprintcars, Pro Sprintcars, Speedcars and Super Sedans to contest the JFE Ultimate Pink Night Championship Series rounds. Anyone who has pre-purchased tickets can keep their tickets for the new date and don’t have to do anything else. However, everyone will receive an email on Monday where they will be able to request a refund if they can no longer attend. (Refunds will then be processed in a couple of days after that).
JFE Pink night take 2 will be massive with plenty of close racing and entertainment assured across all divisions and splashes of Pink everywhere as well as plenty of opportunities to help meet fundraising goals. Forty-four open Sprintcars have been nominated so far and with fifteen nominations in the HRX Pro-Sprintcar Series set to hit the track it has all the makings of a great night of Sprintcar racing this being the last time Sprintcars will be in Toowoomba before Christmas. It’s a night you definitely do not want to miss and don’t forget to come dressed in pink ready for a seriously entertaining night of Speedway while we all raise money for a truly worthwhile cause. Pink night is not only Round 3 of the Queensland Speedway Spares Ultimate Sprintcar Championship, but is also the final hit-out ahead of the 3-night Red Hot Summer Shootout on the 5th, 6th and 7th of January. Lockie McHugh’s has his first night out for SRV Racing and the exciting news this week is that Cody Morskie has joined forces with Bill Mann and will drive the Queensland Speedway Spares Q16 for the rest of the season and that’s something to look forward to. The Hi-Tec Oils Speedway complex is looking mint after the recent rain and yes we did need the rain and the other positive is we get to see Jy Corbet racing around the high banks. He is back after a very strong few weeks racing in Victoria, Luke Oldfield returns after his commitments in Western Australia and Ryan Newton is very close to a podium finish. Michael Stewart can’t be ruled out of the equation as he has been very consistent and more than capable of a feature win as is Jessie Attard after his recent feature win in Lismore.
The Speedcars will be back in action on Saturday night. An impressive field of 27 drivers have nominated to contest the 2023-24 running of the Danny Davidson Memorial, a race held in memory of Danny who was amongst the top drivers in the country in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Former winners Michael Kendall and Scott Farmer will be out to again win this prestigious event. Farmer comes off a win in our first show of the season and is in great form and it would not surprise if he goes, two for two. Others who will also be at the front include Sydney sider Nathan Smee, Casey O’Connell, Rusty Whittaker and Charlie Brown.
Sprintcar driver Brent Aprile will make his speedcar debut on Saturday night and after getting some valuable seat time will be one to watch as the season progresses. Tim Devine makes his first appearance of the season, and everyone knows this youngster gives nothing less than ten tenths and is always exciting to watch.
Also coming from south of the border are DJ Raw and Daniel Paterson. Both have raced with us in the past and are very welcome visitors.
Another driver making a guest appearance is Cal Whatmore Jnr in one of Scott Doyles Speedcars. Whatmore is a very consistent and capable driver who will make the most of the opportunity and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the podium on Saturday night.
Twenty-one drivers representing Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria are set to descend on Toowoomba for Ultimate Pink Night. Round 2 of the Super Sedan Ultimate Championship which doubles as round 5 of the McCosker Super Sedan Series.
Matty Pascoe kicked off his season in Gympie and put on a dominant performance in the feature race to secure his first win of the season. Pascoe will head to the Toowoomba ‘High Banks’ on Saturday night looking to make it two for two to start his season. Pascoe will be joined by his son Queensland Champion Brad Pascoe who was victorious in the opening round of the Ultimate Super Sedan Championship in October. Pascoe will be looking for another strong performance to tighten his grip on the top of the points standings. Hayden Brims secured another top five finish at Gympie after being victorious in the prior two rounds at Bundaberg and Kingaroy. Brims will be one to watch on Saturday night. JJ Hamilton rounded out the podium in Gympie and will be hoping to carry that form into this weekend . Darren Kane always makes good speed in Toowoomba will be hoping to bounce back on Pink Night and earn his first victory of the season. Toowoomba’s own Sean Black will be one to watch on Saturday night and knows his way around Toowoomba’s Hi banks come feature time it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him standing on the podium. Current Australian champion Trent Wilson from Townsville also returns to Toowoomba this weekend.
