BRUMMIES WORK TO OVERCOME SETBACK
DIRECTOR of Speedway Laurence Rogers insists Birmingham bosses are already doing as much as they possibly can to resolve their pre-season team setback.
News came through earlier this week that No.1 Piotr Pawlicki would be unable to take his place in the Brummies’ opening Premiership fixtures due to leg muscle damage – but he is already working overtime to be back on a bike as soon as possible.
Rogers said: “Between Sam (Ermolenko – team manager), Chris (Adams – assistant team manager), myself and Nigel (Tolley – CEO) we’ve been very busy.
“It’s not a case of picking a name out and they appear all of a sudden.
“We’ve checked with the SCB what we’re allowed to do and what we’re not allowed to do, what the visa situation is; we’ve spoken to various riders but we’ve got to see what’s available out there, we’re doing what we can.”

BELLE Vue’s WSRA National Development League team will once again receive title sponsorship from Cool Running Rental this year.
The long-running deal moves into a ninth season and is part of the continued relationship between the club and principal partner Rentruck Rochdale, with their refrigerated vehicle division once again backing the Colts.
Rentruck MD Richard Cotton said: “There’s never any doubts in our minds about wanting to be involved with Belle Vue Speedway and we’re delighted to continue our partnership this year.
“To solidify our relationship, we have recently wrapped two of our newest Luton vehicles in Aces livery, which will be on hire nationally throughout the season, spreading the Speedway word.
“We are very proud of what Mark [Lemon] and the team achieved in recent years and are looking forward to another exciting season at the National Speedway Stadium.”
