FIM SPEEDWAY: FRICKE REPLACES INJURED DOYLE
Aussie ace Max Fricke makes his first appearance in the 2024 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series after injured compatriot Jason Doyle officially withdrew from the Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague this Saturday.
Fricke steps into the line-up to replace his 2022 FIM Speedway of Nations-winning teammate after Doyle crashed out of Ipswich’s Rowe Motor Oil Premiership match at King’s Lynn last Thursday.
The Witches confirmed he suffered rib and shoulder injuries in the incident, although it is unclear how long he will remain sidelined.
Fricke finished ninth in the 2023 Speedway GP series and will be determined to take full advantage of his call-up after missing out on a permanent wild card spot for this season.
He has reached two semi-finals in seven Prague appearances – the best of those saw him score 13 points in the 2019 event.
We wish Jason a full and speedy recovery.
