Multiple Australian Under 21 Champion and 2020 Under 21 World Champion Jaimon Lidsey has agreed to terms to contest the upcoming International Speedway Masters.
The twenty-five year old, international star, who brilliantly won the Australian Speedway Centenary, last December, will appear on night two (December 28), competing in the prestigious Leigh Adams Medal at Gillman Speedway Stadium.
Born in Mildura, Victoria, Jaimon Lidsey won his FIM Gold Medal in the Czech Republic, thus joining Darcy Ward, Leigh Adams, Jason Crump and Max Fricke as Australian riders who have won the coveted World Under 21 crown.
“Jaimon is a big signing,” said International Speedway Masters, promoter, David Tapp.
“His performance in winning the Australian Speedway Centenary, last summer, was compelling. He really dominated the meeting against some of the best riders on the planet.
“He then went on to claim a fighting fourth place in the Australian Championship Series, behind Rohan Tungate, Max Fricke and Jack Holder. He’ll be one of the men to beat at Gillman”.
Meanwhile, Jaimon is currently enduring a daunting schedule abroad, racing for Belle Vue in England, GKM Grudziadz in Poland, as well as Lejonen Gislaved in Sweden.
The hard-charging Victorian says he’s looking forward to racing at Gillman as part of the International Speedway Masters.
“I enjoy racing back in Australia every summer when I come home and I’m super pumped about the ISM24 at Gillman,” Lidsey said.
“As a youngster I well remember hearing all about the International Speedway Masters. It was a big deal back in the day and it’s brilliant the event is back on the calendar.
“It’s good to see more big meetings happening every year in Australia and I like that more foreign riders are coming Down Under to take part on our home tracks.”
There will be further announcements regarding solo stars taking part in the International Speedway Masters in coming days.
