CRACK WA SIDECAR DUO FOR INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS

Arguably Western Australia’s leading speedway sidecar team, comprising Joshua Wells and Corey 

Blackman, are confirmed starters on night one (December 27) of the International Speedway 

Masters.

The two-night International Speedway Masters is being staged at Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway 

Stadium, on Friday night December 27 (the Darrin Treloar Cup) and Saturday ight, December 28 

(the Leigh Adams Medal for international solos).

The duo are welcome additions to what is a stellar sidecar field, being assembled for night one 

ISM24 hostilities. The dashing duo finished runner-up in the WA State Championship, last 

summer, behind Justin Plaisted and Damian Egan.

Joshua Wells was born in Invercargill (NZ), whilst his passenger, Corey Blackman, was born and 

raised in Perth. The pair, have only raced together for one season but both men boast vast 

experience at all levels of motorcycle racing.

Passenger, Corey Blackman, has won multiple Australian Sidecar Championships in road racing, 

whilst Joshua Wells has enjoyed success in road racing and hill climb, including annexing the 

New Zealand Championship earlier this year. Joshua is also the former winner of the New Zealand 

Speedway Grand Prix.

“Corey and I are rapt to get a start in the Darrin Treloar Cup, as part of the International 

Speedway Masters,” said Joshua.

“It’s an honour to represent WA in such an elite field of international and national sidecar 

heavyweights. I love Gillman and Corey and I were thrilled to finish in the top ten at the FIM 

Oceania Championship, held at the Adelaide track last season”.

Joshua Wells’ and Corey Blackman’s assault on the International Speedway Masters is
