FORMER WORLD CHAMPION CHRIS HOLDER TO CONTEST IKON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS
Australian speedway legend, Chris Holder, has agreed to terms to contest the prestigious Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, at Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway Stadium.
The 2012 World Speedway Champion and five-time Australian Champion, is a true icon of the sport and his addition to the field for the ISM24 represents a major coup for the event.
Holder, 36, is enjoying a strong season in Europe, after having endured a horror run with injuries in recent years. His stellar return to form reflects his unbridled talent and well documented determination.
“Chris is a wonderful addition to the field being assembled for the Leigh Adams Medal, on night two of the ISM24,” says organiser David Tapp.
“Chris is a true pro, a real pleasure to deal with – and I’m naturally thrilled to have him confirmed in the rider line-up, which is taking shape nicely”.
Meantime, Chris Holder says he’s looking forward to taking part in an event that’s paying tribute to one of the sport’s all-time greats in Leigh Adams.
“I’ve been keeping tabs on the Ikon International Speedway Masters whilst I’m racing abroad and committing to taking part was easy.
“The International Speedway Masters name is legendary in the sport and it’s great to see it back. It’s also a nice touch to be honouring Leigh, too. He deserves it. What a rider he was!
“The meeting will be tough, as there will be many world class riders involved, but I intend giving it my all. I love racing at Gillman and I’m counting down the days to this event”.
Further major rider announcements will be made later this week.
