VIC SIDECAR DUO GATES AND O’LOUGHLIN CONFIRMED FOR INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS

Mildura’s Byren Gates and his long time passenger, Mick O’Loughlin, have been confirmed as participants in the Ikon International Speedway Masters to be held at Gillman Speedway on December 27 and 28.

Gates, who has qualified for a remarkable seventeen Australian Championships, has enjoyed a successful partnership with Mick O’Loughlin for a long period, thus establishing the duo, as one of Victoria’s best ever sidecar pairings.

Gates and O’Loughlin will prove a highly competitive combination, forming an integral part of what is a stellar rider line-up being assembled, for the prestigious Darrin Treloar Cup, scheduled for night one (December 27).

Byren Gates says he’s looking forward to representing the State of Victoria in an event certain to be fiercely contested. “Mick and I love racing at Gillman and to take part in the Darrin Treloar Cup is very special,” he said.“It’s going to be a very hot field and it’s an honour to receive an invitation to take part in the event honouring, Darrin Treloar, the best rider of all-time. We aim to be very well prepared and be right on the pace at what will be a memorable event.”
