AUSSIE SUPERSTAR MAX FRICKE ADDED TO SOLO FIELD FOR IKON SUSPENSION INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS
In huge news, Victorian speedway superstar Max Fricke has been signed to contest the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, at Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway Stadium.
The twenty-eight year old, multiple Australian Champion and former World Under 21 titleholder is the latest big name international, to confirm his participation in the Leigh Adams Medal, being conducted on night two (December 28), of the two-night ISM24.
Fricke, regarded as one of the top riders in the world, also won an FIM Gold Medal in the 2022 Speedway of Nations, combining with compatriots Jack Holder and Jason Doyle, to claim victory in the Team’s World Championship.
Max, is currently contesting the sport’s elite Speedway Grand Prix World Championship, whilst fulfilling league racing contracts in Poland, Sweden and England. Born in Mansfield, Victoria, Fricke is also a two time SGP winner and a four-time Australian Under 21 Champion, in what has been a brilliant career to date.
“I’m very happy to accept an invitation to ride in the Ikon International Speedway Masters,” Max said, whilst he was waiting to board a flight from England to Sweden.
“Gillman is an awesome track and I know the event will be a world class speedway event, in the true tradition of the International Speedway Masters, which was such a big deal in the sport previously. It’s so good that Tappy is bringing it back, with all the bells and whistles.
“I’m particularly impressed with the massive amount of TV coverage the event has attracted on Fox Sports and Kayo. It’s exactly what our sport in Australia needs.
“I’m only planning on doing the one meeting before the Australian Championship Series gets underway, and I’m happy and honoured, to be taking part in the Leigh Adams Medal on December 28,” Max concluded.
Max Fricke (VIC) joins; Jack Holder (NSW), Chris Holder (NSW). Jason Doyle (NSW), Fraser Bowes (SA), Jan Kvech (Czech), Luke Becker (USA), Sam Hagon (GB) and Jaimon Lidsey (VIC), as the riders announced thus far, to contest the December 28 international solo spectacular.
