WOFFINDEN CONFIRMS 2024 SEASON OVER
Triple Speedway GP World Champion Tai Woffinden has confirmed his 2024 season is over as he continues his recovery from a broken elbow.
Woffinden underwent surgery after breaking his elbow in four places at the ISS FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow on June 29.
He had been ordered by doctors to stay off the bike until an X-ray today to assess the extent his recovery. But the British icon has now been forced to confirm he will not race again this season.
Posting on Facebook, he wrote: “Sorry guys, my 2024 is over. Cya when I’m looking at ya. Thanks for the support.”
Subject to FIM confirmation, his place in the remaining three Speedway GP rounds will be taken by second series substitute Maciej Janowski of Poland – Woffinden’s teammate in Wroclaw.
A breathless finale to the Speedway GP season continues with the OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga this Saturday, before events in Vojens on September 14 and Torun on September 28 round off the season.
Everyone involved in Speedway GP sends Tai our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
