FULL SPEED AHEAD IN 2025 FOR BRITISH SPEEDWAY
SHEFFIELD promoter Damien Bates is anticipating an even more competitive top-flight of British Speedway in 2025.
Club chiefs from all seven ROWE Motor Oil Premiership teams spent three days earlier this week rubber-stamping the rules and regulations for next season. Bates reckons there is plenty for fans to look forward to and feels it could be one of the most fierce play-off races for quite some time.
“I’m excited for next year already and I really think supporters of all clubs should be as well,” Bates said.
“Fair play to all the promoters in the Premiership; they all want British Speedway to be successful and the plans we’re all making with riders and fixtures for next season proves that.
“Ipswich and King’s Lynn have already announced their full teams and they both look very, very strong.
“I know a couple of other 1-7s as well and I’ll tell you now, it’s going to be a real battle to finish in the top four next year.”

BIRMINGHAM CEO Nigel Tolley says the club’s team building plans have already ramped up since the conclusion of the sport’s AGM.
The Brummies endured a tough return to the top-flight this year, finishing bottom of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership, and are expected to name a much-changed side for 2025 with Jason Edwards already installed in the Rising Star position.
“We like doing things by the book at Birmingham and now the AGM is out the way, we can really look ahead to 2025,” Tolley said. “It was a very productive AGM, despite there being no real surprises, and our team building continues at some pace.
“I’ve got a few more ‘phone calls to make over these next couple of days but I am hopeful we’ll be in a position to reveal our brand new No.1, along with season ticket details, at some point next week.”
