The driver of the Krikke Motorsport W2, took the win from Callum Williamson and American Brock Zearfoss in round six of the 2024-25 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series, with the feature race being the Burson Auto Parts Boxing Day Bonanza.
It was the third win of the season for the defending series champion who has also had a second and a pair of fifths.
Kingshott started the show in the best possible fashion, being quickest in the fourth qualifying group out on the track – and it happened to be the quickest overall of the 36 cars – winning the Victory 1 Performance Quick Time award.
He started and finished fourth in his heat race and took a second in the A Dash to set up the P3 start for the 30-lap final.
Kingshott tucked in behind Williamson, who started p3 at the drop of the green, after the first start was aborted when Aaron Chircop spun in the opening corner.
The leaders were into lapped traffic with only four laps in the book, tagging onto the back of the 28-car field and Kingshott took the lead after six laps, a position he maintained until the checkers.
As the race neared the halfway mark, the caution lights came on after an incident in a similar spot that saw Kerry Madsen and American Cory Eliason head to the work area, where unfortunately they were unable to carry out repairs in time.
Chircop was able to resume from the rear of the field.
Kingshott and Zearfoss, who started from p8, led the field away in the double-file restart from Williamson and Taylor Milling.
Williamson re-established himself back in second which he held to the checkers.
Zearfoss held on for third despite a late challenge from round 5 winner James McFadden, with the margin being just 0.018 of a second as Zearfoss drove the USA95 into the fence at the finish line, knocking out the car’s rear-end.
McFadden’s fourth was a big effort, moving up nine spots after starting from p13 and winning the Midpack dash after starting from p4.
Milling was fifth after starting from p6 and getting up to third early on, in his best night of the season.
Queenslander Luke Oldfield was sixth, after starting from p5, while South Aussie Matt Egel claimed the Kincrome Hard Charger award after starting 22nd and finishing seventh.
Tasmanian Jock Goodyer moved up four spots to be eighth, ahead of American Gio Scelzi who moved up seven spots to finish ninth.
Scelzi dug deep after he hit the fence and rolled on his second qualifying lap, with steering equipment failure.
Fortunately his first lap time was good enough to be second in his qualifying group, but the team had a big thrash to get the USA71 repaired in time for his heat race where he finished fifth.
American Justin Whittall rounded out the top 10 after starting p11, ahead of Andrew Priolo who started p10, Queenslander Ryan Newton who moved up eight spots to be 12th, Jason Pryde, 14th to 13th, Kaiden Manders, 21st to 14th, AJ Nash, 26th to 15th, James Inglis, 27th to 16th, Michael Keen 28th to 17th, Brad Maiolo, 25th to 18th, Jason Kendrick, 17th to 19th, Cameron McKenzie 18th to 23rd, Jaydee Dack, ninth to 21st, American Matt Juhl, 23rd to 22nd, Ryan Lancaster, seventh to 23rd and Chircop, 19th to 24th.
Racing returns to the Perth Motorplex on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights for High Limit International: Perth, with the feature race on the Monday night paying $100,000 to win.
These races are all part of the 2024-25 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series Championship which Kingshott still leads, marginally increasing his advantage over Williamson.
Milling, thanks to his fifth, has moved from sixth to third, ahead of Manders who remains in fourth and Brad Maiolo who remains in fifth.
Coyle, who didn’t transfer from the B Main, has dropped from third to sixth, while Kendrick has moved from eighth to seventh, Lancaster remains in ninth, while Jamie Maiolo has dropped from seventh to 10th.
Jack Williamson, who started on the front row after winning the A Dash, has dropped from 10th to 14th due to his DNF.
