SUNDAY, JANUARY 5, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE:
A ninth to Dayne Kingshott and a DNS for Callum Williamson at Bunbury Speedway on Saturday night, January 4, has opened up the gap between the two front runners in the 2024-25 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series championship.
Heading into round 12, Kingshott, the defending series champion, had 1816 points, just eight points ahead of Williamson.
Kingshott started p18 for the 30-lap final, while Williamson was due to start from p4, but having stripped gears in the W3 meant he didn’t get a start.
Heading into a double header at the Perth Motorplex next Friday and Saturday nights, Kingshott now has 1816 points, with Williamson 1726.
A solid drive from p5 to p4 has elevated Taylor Milling to third on 1676.
Kaiden Manders, who started p17 and finished 18th, dropped from third to fourth to now be 1666 points.
Andrew Priolo is still fifth overall on 1572 points after starting p19 and finishing 21st.
Jack Williamson has gone up from seventh to sixth for 1530 points after going from p20 to 16th.
Brad Maiolo moved up from ninth to seventh for 1498 points – after going from p3 from p5.
Jason Kendrick, p22 to 19th, remains eighth on 1478 and Kris Coyle moved from p10 to p9 on 1474 after crossing the line in 17th.
Ryan Newton, who didn’t race in Bunbury, has dropped from sixth to 10th.
Ryan Lancaster is now 11th after his 15th place in Bunbury, while Aaron Chircop remains in 12th (23rd in Bunbury), Jamie Maiolo moved from 14th to 13th (14th in Bunbury), Michael Keen went from 15th to 14th (13th in Bunbury) and Daniel Harding, who also didn’t race at Bunbury, dropped from 11th to 15th.
