CHAMP GETS A STARTING SPOT
DEFENDING British Under-21 Champion Sam Hagon is one of eight riders to receive a seeded place in this year’s Final.
Hagon pulled off a memorable triumph at Glasgow last June, having previously won the Qualifier meeting at Plymouth to even secure a place in the Ashfield showpiece.
This year his Final place is confirmed as one of the eight seeds based on Championship averages, with the other spots going to Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson, Ashton Boughen, Nathan Ablitt, Luke Harrison, Jake Mulford and Vinnie Foord.
The date and venue for the Final is to be confirmed, but the Qualifier will once again take place at Plymouth on Tuesday April 29 (7pm).
Places in that meeting will be offered to the 16 riders who have a 2024 NDL average of above 3.00, and confirmation of the line-up will follow next month. The top eight from the Coliseum will qualify for the Final.

GLASGOW’S SGP2 (World Under-21) qualifying round will feature at least two British riders.
The meeting takes place at Ashfield on Saturday May 24 as competitors battle for places in the full three-round SGP2 series.
National allocations for the event have been confirmed which will see GB have two places at Glasgow, along with two reserves.
Meanwhile two further British Under-21 riders will look to qualify for SGP2 in the equivalent events on the same day in the Czech Republic (Pardubice) and Hungary (Debrecen), where one place each is allocated to GB.
Qualifiers for the SGP3 (Under-16, 250cc) competition also take place on May 24, and GB will have two representatives at Krsko in Slovenia.

THE 2025 British Youth Championship will be contested over seven rounds.
Events in the series have been confirmed for Belle Vue, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Kent, Leicester, Redcar and Workington.
The majority of dates will be confirmed when the NDL and NDT fixture list is available, but the Leicester round has already been arranged.
This will take place on Sunday June 1 (3pm) at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park.

LEICESTER will stage the 2025 Women’s British Open Championship after a successful event at the East Midlands venue last season.
The competition will take place at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Sunday June 1 and will once again be part of a meeting which includes a round of the British Youth Championship.
Last year’s title was taken by Celina Liebmann, who spent much of the season with Workington in the Cab Direct Championship, ahead of Teagan Pedler with Katie Gordon third after Rachel Hellowell fell on the first lap of the Final.
As the event moves into a third year there is expected to be further interest with standards clearly improving in 2024 as a result of an overall increase in participation and training.
Those riders wishing to compete at Leicester on June 1 should contact Neil Vatcher at neil@scbgb.co.uk for full details.
