SWEDISH STAR LINDGREN OPTS OUT OF 2025 FIM SPEEDWAY OF NATIONS
World number three Fredrik Lindgren has confirmed he will not line up for Sweden in the FIM Speedway of Nations this year.
Lindgren has led his country to back-to-back bronze medals in the ultimate test of team riding, which will be staged in Polish city Torun from September 30 until October 4.
Posting on his official Facebook page, Lindgren explained the decision. He wrote: “Together with my family, I’ve decided to not participate in the SON event for 2025.
“As the calendar says in this writing moment, I will end my season in September. After a long preparation before the season and a long season ahead, I decided together with my family that I will not participate in the SON event in October 2025.
“I’m a speedway rider most of the months in a year but I’m also a family man, and this year I decide to not extend the season more with the SON event in October. I wish the Swedish team all the best of luck!”
Despite his withdrawal from the FIM SON, Lindgren lines up in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series, which gets underway with the FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut on May 3, before concluding with the Deluxe Homeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens on September 13.
