FIM SPEEDWAY: DOYLE: GOOD TO BE BACK!
Aussie racer Jason Doyle admits he “felt like a kid in a candy shop” as he made his track return in Croatia this past weekend (March 8-9).
Doyle took part in a training camp organised by Polish sponsor Boll in Donji Kraljevec, which previously staged the FIM Speedway GP of Croatia. He was joined on track by Slovak star Martin Vaculik, Danish ace Mikkel Michelsen and Poland’s former Speedway GP star Piotr Pawlicki.
The 2017 Speedway GP World Champion’s appearance at Speedway Stadion Milenium is his first track action since his 2024 season was ended by the torn rotator cuff he suffered in a British Rowe Motor Oil Premiership fixture at King’s Lynn in May.
Doyle could not have been happier to be back on two wheels. Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “Ten months after my accident! It was good to be back! Felt like a kid in a candy shop!”
The Ipswich racer started the 2024 Speedway GP campaign with second spot in Croatia and followed up with a famous win at the Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw.
He was firmly in World-Championship contention until he suffered his season-ending injuries, and Doyle will be determined to get back on the title trail this year – starting at the FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut on May 3.
