MADDINGTON TOYOTA SPRINTCAR SERIES: SERIES PHOTO FINISH LOOMING
Feature photo by: Cochrane Photography
Sixty points – and two rounds remaining.
That is the scenario as we head into the business end of the 2024-25 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.
Defending series champion Dayne Kingshott has 2930 points, 60 points clear of arch rival and former series champion Callum Williamson who is on 2870 points after round 20 was contested at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday night, March 8.
Williamson ever so slightly reduced the margin between himself and Kingshott, by finishing second, with Kingshott third – in the feature race that was won by Brad Maiolo.
The gap between the two is a big one but not unattainable – should Williamson round out the season with two massive results and Kingshott has a horror double where he either doesn’t qualify for the A Mains or is out of the contests early – it is game on.
A clearer picture will be shown when round 21 – the penultimate event – is held at the Perth Motorplex next Saturday night (March 15).
Kaiden Manders, who finished fourth, has moved into third overall, at the expense of Taylor Milling who crashed out early in the 30-lapper.
Manders has 2650 points, eight ahead of Milling on 288.
Andrew Priolo, despite having to move his way through the pack to claim 13th after he was earlier in a very solid position closer to the front of the pack, is still fifth, while Jason Kendrick, Kris Coyle, Maiolo, Daniel Harding and Michael Keen round out the top 10.
