IKON SUSPENSION TO SPONSOR SOLO CENTURION CLASSIC AT AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY
One of Australia’s leading manufacturers and distributers of shock absorber and suspension components, Ikon Suspension, has acquired naming rights to the prestigious 500cc Solo Centurion Trophy, being staged on night 2 (December 29), of the Australian Speedway Centenary.
The two night super-show, to be held at North Brisbane Speedway on December 28 and 29, is the biggest speedway motorcycle event to be held in Australia this summer season.
Ikon Suspension, a prolific producer of quality and custom suspension systems, for motorcycle racing and motorcycling enthusiasts alike, has been a major supporter of Australian domestic – and international speedway- for more than a quarter of a century having been heavily involved in high profile events, such as; the International Speedway Masters Series, Australian Solo Championship Series and as principle sponsor of the iconic Sidecar Grand Slam Series.
Managing Director of Ikon Suspension, Mr Geoffrey Lowe, says his company is thrilled to be an integral part of the sports’ 100 Year Centennial event.
“This is more than just another speedway meeting, it’s a celebration of 100 magnificent years in a sport Australia gave to the world,” Mr Lowe enthused.“Ikon Suspension has been involved with many major national and international events, in Australian speedway, in the past, but the Australian Speedway Centenary will take the sport to an entirely new level in terms of the way the event is being presented.
“I congratulate the organisers and we’re delighted to be presenting the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Trophy on night two. The field of riders, announced so far, is truly world class and the event, on both nights, will be an incredible spectacle not to be missed.
Meantime, Australian Speedway Centenary representative, David Tapp, says he is indebted to Geoffrey Lowe and his wife Louise, for their unwavering and long term commitment to the sport of elite speedway racing.
“Geoffrey and I go back as far as the early nineties and his passion for supporting major speedway fixtures is unparalleled in this country,” David explained.
“Apart from sponsoring major events and many of the sport’s leading riders, Geoffrey has also been a speedway co-promoter, so he’s definitely covered all bases.
“We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Geoffrey and Louise Lowe – and to be blunt – an event of this magnitude would not be possible if it were not for the likes of Ikon Suspension,” Tapp concluded.
