DATE CONFIRMATION

POOLE promoter Dan Ford has explained the re-arrangement date for the Pirates’ Cab Direct Championship play-off clash with Edinburgh.
The meeting has now been scheduled for Wednesday September 27 with an horrendous weather forecast putting paid to plans to run tonight.

Ford said: “We attempted to go on an alternative night which would have allowed us not to clash with our sporting neighbours AFC Bournemouth who have a home Cup fixture next week and we didn’t want two important local sporting events to clash, especially as the patronage of both ourselves and the Cherries is shared by many.

“But unfortunately the stadium is not available to us next Tuesday, so we will be running next Wednesday and regret the inconvenience that might present to fans of both ourselves and the Cherries.”
Wednesday’s other scheduled play-off meeting between Oxford and Redcar has also been postponed with a new date awaited.

(SPEEDWAY 2)

TWO changes have been confirmed for the National Development League Riders’ Championship which takes place at Workington on Sunday.

Leicester No.1 Dan Thompson is still ruled out with a dislocated shoulder after a crash at Ipswich last month, with his Lion Cubs team-mate Max Perry now called up to replace him at Northside.
Meanwhile Edinburgh’s Adam Roynon is also still on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, and his place will be taken by Jacob Hook.
