DANISH STAR RASMUS JENSEN CONFIRMED FOR AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY
Danish international, Rasmus Jensen, is the latest big name star to sign on for the upcoming Australian Speedway Centenary, being staged at North Brisbane Speedway on December 28 and 29.
The 2022 Danish Champion and 2023 World Team Cup bronze medallist (Jensen was the top points scorer for the Danish Team); will contest the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Trophy on December 29, along with a galaxy of stars from Australia and Great Britain.
The 29 year old Dane, born in Holsted, commenced his career racing in Britain in 2013 with Plymouth and his since ridden for Somerset, Workington, Glasgow and Swindon. He combined with Craig Cook to win the SGB Pairs Championship in 2019.
“I’m really happy that Rasmus has committed to riding at the Australian Speedway Centenary,” says co-promoter Darcy Ward.
“Denmark has been one of the world’s great speedway nations over a long period of time and his inclusion in the field adds yet another enthralling dimension to what is shaping up as a cracking night of international solo racing.”
Rasmus Jensen rides for Zielona Gora in Poland, Holsted in Denmark and Dackarna in Sweden. He has also been a wildcard in the World Championship Speedway Grand Prix Series.
The Dane joins Tai Woffinden, Dan Bewley and Adam Ellis, all from Great Britain, as international riders who have signed to compete against many of Australia’s top riders at North Brisbane Speedway on December 29.
Further major rider signings will be announced in coming days.
