AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY CENTENARY: AUSSIE STAR MAX FRICKE SIGNS
Multiple Australian Champion and former World Under 21 Champion, Max Fricke, is the latest big name star to confirm his participation in the upcoming Australian Speedway Centenary.
The twenty-seven year old Victorian is a welcome addition to what is an incredible field being assembled for the Ikon Suspension 500cc Solo Centurion Classic, on December 29, at North Brisbane Speedway.
Fricke, a genuine superstar of the sport on the world stage, has won two World Championship Speedway Grand Prix events, both in Poland, at Torun and Warsaw. He also helped Australia win a Gold Medal in the 2022 FIM Speedway of Nations.
When he won the World Under 21 Championship in 2016, Max Fricke became the first Australian rider to win the prestigious event, since compatriot, Darcy Ward, claimed consecutive victories in 2009 and 2010.
Max Fricke’s inclusion in the field, for the Australian Speedway Centenary, adds yet another world class star to what is, without doubt, the best field of solo riders being assembled in Australia this summer. Fricke is a genuine contender for outright victory.
“I’m so glad that I’ve been able to work the Australian Speedway Centenary into my schedule,” Max said.
“The event appears to be coming together really well and what a field of riders the organisers are putting together. It’s going to be a brutal meeting, but one I’d love to win.
“I like the North Brisbane Speedway track and I’m sure fans will see an amazing event.”
Max Fricke is one of the busiest professional riders in the world, combining league racing in England, Poland and Sweden, in addition to his individual racing commitments.
The Victorian was also an integral part of the Australian squad that finished fourth in the 2023 World Team Cup.
There will be more rider announcements in the coming days.
