PICKERING A MONARCH
EDINBURGH have delivered supporters the festive present they were all hoping for – the news that skipper Josh Pickering is returning to the club next season.
The all-action Australian had indicated at the end of the 2023 campaign that he would be calling time on his involvement at Cab Direct Championship level in order to pursue ambitions on the continent.
However, his circumstances have changed, and he has now agreed terms to return for a seventh season with the Monarchs.
Club chairman Alex Harkess said: “Our supporters are looking for a boost at Christmas, and this news will give them just that.”

OXFORD will defend their National Development League title in 2024 with four members of this year’s squad.
Luke Killeen, Jody Scott, Jacob Clouting and Jason Garrad all return for the Chargers, with Killeen named as captain.
The quartet are joined by new signings Alex Spooner, Ashton Vale and Senna Summers, with the latter two riders both starting their first full seasons in the WSRA NDL.
Team manager Peter Schroeck said: “The Chargers is a huge success story since Oxford Speedway returned two seasons ago,.
“We’ve been competitive in both campaigns of the club’s history and look forward to the challenges ahead in the new year.
“Having Luke double-up with the Cheetahs and Chargers again next season is great for us. He’s a rider with huge potential and has really bought into what we’re trying to achieve at Sandy Lane.
