TIGERS KEEP SPONSOR WITH TWO YEAR EXTENSION

PREMIERSHIP champions Sheffield have secured a two-year extension to their main team sponsorship with Tru7 Group.
The Owlerton side have taken on the Tru Plant name for the past three seasons but will now be known as the Tru7Group Tigers as the suppliers to the construction, demolition and agriculture industries continue to give their backing to two top-flight clubs.

Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: “First and foremost we must go on record and say a huge, huge thanks to Guy Nicholls (Tru7 Group CEO & Owner) for agreeing to continue his sponsorship at Sheffield.
“Guy has a real passion for speedway as a sport and with him being a massively successful businessman himself, it really does mean a lot that he continues to see the advantages and benefits of backing Sheffield.

“With him being Suffolk-based, as well as also being the main team sponsor of Ipswich, we know why he had mixed feelings after last year’s Grand Final.
“But from a business point of view, the exposure that gave him must’ve been unbelievable and he fully deserved that.”

POOLE have retained the support of Wessex Marine as team title sponsors for a second successive season.
The company have been a big part of the Wimborne Road club for many years with various levels of club and rider backing before stepping up to headline sponsorship in 2023.

And promoter Dan Ford wants to give them the Championship’s top prize after the Pirates saw their league title slip away in October.
Ford said: “It is hard not to think of Poole Speedway without also thinking of Wessex Marine. They have been so loyal and supportive of us for so many years now and their enthusiasm never wanes.

“2024 will be the second season we have gone under the official banner of Poole Wessex Marine Pirates and it makes me even more determined to bring the league title back to Wimborne Road, as adding the word ‘Champions’ to that title would be nothing less than what David and Guy (Adams) deserve.”

EDINBURGH have added Mason Watson to the line-up for their WSRA National Development League team.
The 23-year-old moves to the Monarchs Academy after spending his full NDL career so far with Berwick, having ridden for the Bullets in the last three seasons.

Team manager Scott Wilson said: “Mason is a great lad, he will fit into our team extremely well.
“Something I’ve heard people say about Mason is, ‘he can only ride Berwick’ – well, he’s already told me he really enjoys Armadale, so I look forward to him proving some people wrong this year.

“I know he had a couple of other clubs chasing him but he wanted to be here at Edinburgh, that’s exactly what I want in my team.
“He’ll start off in a second-string berth and his goal for the season has to be to stay in the top five all season, and improve his average while doing so. I’m confident he can do both.”
