HARRIS STARS AT BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA
CHRIS Harris starred for the Rest of the World in Saturday’s international clash with the USA, winning four of his five rides at Kern Raceway.
Harris was one of three Great Britain riders to make the trip to Bakersfield, and the Oxford and Glasgow man recorded a total of 18 points, which could have been a full house but for mechanical trouble when leading Heat 1.
Birmingham and Poole racer Tom Brennan collected 17 from six rides, winning his opening three outings, whilst Leon Flint (Birmingham/Glasgow) picked up 6+2 from five.
The USA won the meeting 61-52 with new Leicester signing Luke Becker reeling off four wins before falling when second to Harris in the final double-points race.

SEVEN-TIME Danish Champion Niels-Kristian Iversen is the latest rider added to Kyle Howarth’s Testimonial.
The King’s Lynn racer was announced at Thursday night’s STAARS meeting and joins Freddie Lindgren, Tobiasz Musielak, Rory Schlein and Simon Lambert in the Rest of the World line-up that will take on Sheffield on Thursday, March 14 (7.30) at Owlerton.
Said Howarth: “Niels has always been a rider I have admired since he first rode in the UK.
“He is a typical Dane, ultra professional with top class equipment.
“He has suffered a few injuries over the past few seasons but on his day he is as quick as anyone.
“I’m looking forward to having him ride in my meeting and he’s always easy to deal with.”
