SECOND KIWI TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS

A second team from New Zealand has been added to what will be a stellar field of Sidecar superstars, contesting the International Speedway Masters at Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway Stadium on December 27.

The crack Kiwi pairing of Dylan Moohan and Sean Mason join compatriots Mike Zachan and Ben Franklin, as the third and final international team, selected to ride in the prestigious Darrin Treloar Cup on night one of the two night event.

Joining the two New Zealand team entries is seventeen-time AMA American Champion, Joe Jones and his South Australian passenger, Jaron Silvy (as announced last week).

The above three outfits will face the best thirteen Australian teams, with Darrin Treloar/Blake Cox and Tyler Moon/Adam Lovell announced so far.

Dylan Moohan, aged thirty seven, was born in Auckland, NZ, whilst his thirty year old passenger, Sean Mason, was born in Brisbane, QLD. The pair has been racing together since 2017, after initially meeting when competing against each other, as A Grade solo riders.

The transition to sidecar speedway has been fruitful, as Moohan and Mason have combined to win the New Zealand Championship on two occasions, in 2020 and 2023.

The Moohan/Mason team is currently ranked NZ#3 and the dynamic duo’s home track is Rosebank Speedway in Auckland.

“Our goal next season is to reclaim the New Zealand #1 trophy and to represent NZ with distinction at the upcoming International Speedway Masters,” Dylan Moohan enthused.

“We are so proud to be in the field for an event that is paying tribute to Darrin Treloar, the guy we’ve all been trying to emulate in the sport.

“The last time we raced at Gillman was back in 2019 and, unfortunately, we blew our engine, so here’s hoping for more luck this time”.
